Private Investigation & Security Academy

Certified Master Investigator Training  (CMI)

Ten week day course with approximately 400 hours of supervised training.  Class meets each weekday from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM.  There is also a supervised lab available daily from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Student's will also participate in after-hours activities which includes field training and work on "actual investigations".

  • Week 4:    Locating Documents & Information

  • Week 5:    Process Service & Court Procedures 

  • Week 6:    Missing Persons

  • Week 7:    Background Investigations

  • Week 9:    Criminal Investigations 

  • Week 10:  Laws, Licensing & Business Practice 

  • Week 10 - 15:  Hands on Investigations & Final Exam          

Certified Advanced Investigator Training (CAI)

Twenty week evening course with approximately 150 hours of supervised training.  The evening class meets on Monday and Thursday evening from 7-10 PM with supervised lab available prior to class from 4:30 - 7 PM.

  • Week 5-6:    Personal Injury II

  • Week 7-8:    Locating Documents & Information

  • Week 9-10:    Process Service & Court Procedures

  • Week 15-16:    Asset Search & Recovery

  • Week 21-25:  Hands on Investigations & Final Exam Preparation

Advanced Individual Investigator Training 

Security & Firearms Certification to obtain a California State license for Bodyguard, Security and use of a firearm.  The course can be extended to include certification in the use of a Baton.

Business Start-Up Package includes setting up a Fictitious Business Name, Web Site, Business Cards and Marketing Program to establish and promote your own business in Attorney Services, Process Service or Investigations. 

Bail Bondsman Certification is a two day course to qualify the individual to enter the highly profitable field of writing Bail Bonds.  This is also an area where apprentice investigators can use their skip tracing skills prior to being licensed as Investigators.  

Lock Picking & Mechanical Security instructs the individual on the workings of different locks and how many of the most common locks can be easily opened without a key.  The course includes a "pick-set" and a state license as a Locksmith.

Advanced Telephone Pretexting Techniques is a one day course on the special tools and tricks of obtaining information over the phone.  This is an especially useful set of tools for obtaining asset information or skip tracing a fugitive.

Self Defense & Field Apprehension Techniques:  Special instruction for persons entering the field on Bail Enforcement, Parole Officer, Probation Officer or Corrections.  The students are instructed in "one on one" and "group on one" safe "take down" techniques for the apprehension and restraint of prisoners. 

Introduction to Polygraph Techniques:  Basic use and administration of the polygraph is instructed.  In California, the polygraph is an "unlicensed" that can be performed by anyone trained on an instrument.
